Daniel Blutmann (aka DJ Daniel Sun) is a South African resident, but was born and bred in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He started out at a young age throwing parties with the help of 2 close friends for a period of 5 years and this is where he discovered his passion for music and his ability to make a dance floor come alive.

“We are lucky to have such a refreshing talent come into the music seen with great experience behind him. His understanding of all genres of music shines through and you can expect him to be up to date with all sounds on the club scene.He believes every good tune has a unique burst of energy and his is committed to find such tunes and deliver as a journey on the dance floor.

His insight, passion, understanding and knowledge in the electronic music have allowing him during just his first year in the South African dance scene to be included in the DJ line up of the most important events such as Kiss, H2O main floor, Rock da girls Xtreme, Fu-cha gathering, Sutra F**k me I’m Famous, sharing the stage with the best South Africans djs & Artist such Goldfish, DJ Fresh, Spiro, Speedy, Ricardo da Costa and international DJ Fatboy Slim”

Can you describe your personal sound in a bit more detail?
It has a exponential flow of energy, going through a sweet soul, groove sound, aiming to a bouncy phase, and concluding euphorically, leaving a taste for more. The progressive sound of DJ Daniel Sun.

What/who have been Influences in your life?
My parents and two principals, Love and Respect

Who are some of your favorite producers?
In the past too many of them, recently Deadmouse, James Harcourt, 16 bit Lolitas, Beltek , Bush, Audiojack, Alex kinji, Dubfire, Guy Gerber, Sharam, there are so many good producers…

Who are some of your favorite DJ’s
Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Deep Dish, Steve Lawler, Hernan Cattaneo, Paul Oakenfold, Morillo, Roger Sanchez, deadmau5,PVD

Best memories as a DJ?
I was 16 yo, it happened when my partners and I organized an special party, while I was playing, the crowd went nuts for the whole night with the disco sound… unbelievable, unforgettable .

Lately it was playing at H2O A Decade of Dance, main floor after Goldfish and DJ Fresh, the feeling while I was performing of all those thousand of people screaming and jamming all together.

What equipment do you use?
2 x CDJ 400, Stanton mixer, Dynamic Monitor, Korg Kaoss Pad, sennheiser hd25-1 70 ohms, laptop

What can listeners/dance floors expect from a typical set of yours?
House, trance, progressive, techno or minimal

My selection of tracks are always related to the magnitude of the flow of the energy that I want to give to my set, each tracks has a grade of energy, I started with a combination of tech house and minimal tunes, all groove ones, full of energy, then there is a smooth translation using a tech tune, you can hear the difference but you don’t lose the energy, on the contrary the energy is amplified, then there is a combination of tech and progressives tunes to keep increasing the energy, at the end you feel like going through a journey without bumps or falling asleep, and you want more.
