About You – Biography
Not much to say ive been playing around about for about eleven years in the Cape Town CBD mostly & played one international gig in Bahrain. Released two CD’s a third I hope on its way. I’m a designer/promotor/dj/producer full time. I’m still learning lots and I am grateful for what I have gained over this time.
Can you describe your personal sound in a bit more detail?
Its kinda forward thinking deep house with hints of sentimentality.
What/who have been Influences in your life?
Everyone even you reading this now cant pinpoint one person and say they kinda made me who I am. If i had to choose I would say my mom.
Who are some of your favorite producers?
Currently who i hold in my eye is dennis ferrer, jamie odell (jimpster) ,julien jabre more the older stuff. As far as the older dudes some of them are guys like Kashif, George Clinton, Herbie Hancock (this guy really got me into synths) jean michael jarre pet shop boys the list goes on.
Best memories as a DJ?
Playing as the support act for Little Louie Vega really really good evening out first time i saw a dj handle 3 turntables in a really musical fashion. Also watching dj food perform here in cape town was pretty awesome.
What equipment do you use?
As a dj i perform comfortably with almost anything turntables cdjs whatever but my dream setup would have to be two turntables , 3 pioneer cdj 1000s and pioneer efx500 fx unit. As a producer i use Logic studio.
What can listeners/dance floors expect from a typical set of yours?
Ill let you know when i figure that one out i really dont have a structure reading the audience and the mood of the venue cos every gig is truly a different experience. I will say this though I try and get away with as much as possible
Take us through this mix/set (Include tracklisting and info/reason for choice of track if you want)
Track 01. Prosumer & Murat Tepeli – What Makes You Go For It
This track is pretty twisted dont ask why i started with this track but i really think it echoes the times
Track 02. The Flowriders – Russelology
Well would say this track is really doing something for me what that is
Track 03. Suges – We Belong To The Night
This track pretty much sums up house music for me what im about and why I love it really
Track 04. Halo & Kemal feat Arnold Jarvis – You Lift Me Up
Deep tech at its best kinda epitomizes the vocal sound i like
Track 05. The Timewriter – Chords In Minor
This is a producer I respected alot when I was learning my house music thing. Most of his stuff on Plastic City is legendary ha to pop this in there just really locks that groove down
Track 06. Dennis Ferrer – Church Lady ( Rodamaal Mix)
I just love the raw rhythm thats been pelted with this remix of this track. Reminds me of the tribal vibe from the nineties really deep and jacking. The vox just screams DIVA pay attention people.
Track 07. Dennis Ferrer – Touch The Sky (Joes Beats)
This remix just plays on the beats which was this tracks strong point for me.
Track 08. Erefaan Pearce – Bouncing
No comment lol….well this is what i make currently my sound my groove love it hate it lol.

Final words?
Dream and execute that dream we live once only be whoever you wanna be no matter what anyone says. Be honest with your desires and your needs as an individual dissent is necessary on all levels masses of undulating fans are boring rather have a fan thats tells me im crap than another person telling me im amazing.
